Of course, the First lie (liar) ever recorded is not recorded.  We are simply told that Satan is the father of them in John 8:44.  Most likely it had something to do with Satan telling the angels how God’s Law’s were unjust; for it is God’s Law’s that are still under attack today.

Genesis 3:4, Satan tells Eve, “Ye shall not surely die,”

Genesis 3:5, Satan also tells Eve, “ye shall be as gods,”

Genesis 4:9, God is asking Cain where his brother Able is, and Cain answers, “I know not.”

Genesis 12:13:  Abraham instructs Sarah to “Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister.”

Genesis 20:2:  Abraham tells Abimelech, “She is my sister.”

Genesis 26:7:  Isaac tells the men of Gerar, “She is my sister.”

Genesis 37:32:  Joseph’s brothers lie to Jacob about Joseph being killed by a lion.

Exodus 1:19:  “And the midwives” lied “unto Pharaoh.”

Judges 4:18:  “Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him,” “fear not,” which turned out to be a lie.

First Samuel 15:13:  King Saul lie to Samuel about destroying all of the Amalekites and their belongings.

First Kings 13:18:  The false prophet claims God told him to “Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water.”

First Kings 22:6:  Jehoshaphat asks:  “Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear?  And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.”

First Kings 22:11 & Second Chronicles 18:10:  “And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron:  and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.”

First Kings 22:12 & Second Chronicles 18:11:  “ And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper:  for the LORD shall deliver it into the king’s hand.”

The Book of Job:  His “Friends” accuse him of sinning.

Esther 3:8:  Haman lies to the king about the Israelites loyalty to him.

Jeremiah 5:11-13:  “(11) For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against Me, saith the LORD. (12) They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not He; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine: (13) And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them:  thus shall it be done unto them.”

Jeremiah 27:14:  Jeremiah tells Zedekiah about the false prophecies of the false prophets.

Jeremiah 28:1-4, 11:  Hananiah gives a false prophecy about Babylon.

Jeremiah 29:24-32:  The lies of Shemaiah are recorded.

Jeremiah 43:2-3:  “(2) Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely:  the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there: (3) But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.”

Hosea 11:12:  “Ephraim compasseth Me about with lies.”

Acts 5:2:  Ananias lies about the exact price paid for his land.

Acts 5:8:  Sapphira lies about the exact price paid for his land.

Acts 19:13:  The seven sons of Sceva prophecy falsely in the Name of Jesus.

Revelation 19:20:  The “false prophet. . . deceived them that had received the mark of the beast.”

There are other lies or possible lies in the Bible that are not specific as to a person or a specific group that lies.  Such as Achan taking goods from the city of Ai, but we don’t know that he specifically lied about it.  Or Deuteronomy 29:19 & Psalm 10:13 where no specific individual is mentioned, but all liars are subject to the statement.  See also such verses as Jeremiah 4:10; 5:31; 14:13; 23:17 & 25; Ezekiel 12:22; 13:10; Micah 3:11; Luke 15:29; Colossians 3:9; First Timothy 4:2; Second Timothy 3:8.

However, here is the right thing to do:

“Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.”  Proverbs 12:22.

“A faithful witness will not lie:  but a false witness will utter lies.”  Proverbs 14:5.

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:  for we are members one of another.”  Ephesians 4:25.

“Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.”  Colossians 3:9.
